John Denver是美国著名的乡村音乐歌手，于1943年生于美国西南部的新墨西哥州，曾经学习建筑专业。1971年，他放弃学业，潜心从事乡村歌曲的创作与演唱。

起初受到别人的嘲笑，但他始终不为所动。最终在1971年以一曲《Take Me Home, Country road》(《乡路送我回家》）一跃成名为著名乡村音乐歌星。
