红楼梦 以前常翻译成“A Dream of Red Mansions”，但由于"red(红色)"在西方代表着血腥、残暴，所以又改译为“The Story of the Stone(石头记)”

水浒传用英文翻译是 ：一百零五个男人和三个女人的故事 红楼梦：一个男人和一群女人的故事、 三国：一群男人的故事 西游纪：一个人和一群不是人的故事

hehe这个问题有点困难，从开始有译本的时候就存在争议了，TheDreamoftheRedMansions（红色楼阁里的梦？）在国内比较常见，这是杨教授夫妇译本采用的名字，还有，在英国风行的一个译本，即大卫霍克斯的thestoryofthestone（石头记）以上是我所知道的现在常见的两个全译本，至于上面大家提到的TheDreamoftheRedchamber是英国的FrorenceMcHugh和LsabelMcHugh姐妹翻译的，应该不怎么常见。
