英文：Long ago, a fisherman named Cao went fishing in the small fishing village of Fenghuangshan on the West Bank of the Shunjiang River in Shangyu. The boat was washed away by the waves. Cao E, the daughter of the fisherman, jumped into the river to save her father's death. Filial piety touched the sky and returned to her father's body. People regarded Dragon Boat Festival as a day of remembering the filial daughter Cao E。

中文：战国时，楚国大夫屈原因苦劝楚王无果，忧愤投江自尽。楚国百姓怀念这位为人清正的大夫，于是将糯米包成包投入江中，希望鱼群吃了米而不吃屈原尸身。后世延续为传统，渐渐演化为端午节。

The people of Chu remember this honest doctor, so they wrapped glutinous rice in bags and threw it into the river. They hoped that the fish would eat rice instead of Quyuan's corpse.
