一、激发学生的英语学习兴趣

（一）在课堂中恰当地融入一些游戏活动，也能激发小学生的英语学习兴趣

小学生生性好动，好奇心强，若能将枯燥的语言放在游戏中去，让学生在丰富多彩的游戏中练习所学的'知识，英语课堂就会变成学生的乐园。例如，我在教人体部位的单词：face,mouth,nose,ear时，我将几个学生叫到黑板前，让他们做Touchyourface/mouth/nose/ear等动作。做对了，下面的同学说“Yes”，做错了，下面的同学就说“No”，也可以由教师说：“Touchyourface.”让全班学生做动作。通过这一游戏，学生就很容易地掌握了这些单词。在课堂上多设计游戏活动，不但能提高学生的积极性，使课堂气氛活泼有序，学习兴趣趋于浓厚，也使得教学目标的达成不再那么困难了。

（二）在课堂中恰当地运用多媒体技术也可以激发学生学习英语的兴趣。

有些直观的交际情景单纯地依靠传统的教学方式根本无法在课堂上呈现出来，而利用现代信息技术则完全可以突破这一点。它可以使所有交际情景在课堂中更加生动形象，使学生如身临其境、感同身受，吸引他们进入角色参与到交际中来。例如，在讲到有关动物时，我制作过这样的课件：布置动物园，包含tiger,monkey,elephant,panda等词汇及图片，可以让学生用鼠标拖动把单词和图片连接起来。在这种练习中，学生可以充分地表现自己，学生学习英语的过程变成了一个主动参与的过程。

二、建立和谐的师生关系

英语作为一门语言，其本质就是用于交际的工具。传统的英语课堂教学却多是以枯燥地灌输语法知识为主的“哑巴式英语”，忽视了英语的交际功能，也挫伤了学生学习英语的热情和自信心。新课标提倡“听说领先，读写跟上”的教学原则，让每个学生都开口说英语是课堂教学的首要任务。

1.以教师的说，来带动学生。

在课堂的前五分钟，师生可以进行“freetalk”活动环节。教师可以用提问的形式与学生进行一些简单的日常交际会话。例如，Howareyou?Nicetomeetyou.等，或者也可借助前面学过的句型来与学生交流。例如，Whatcolorisyouhair?Wheredoyoulive等。在会话过程中，教师要关注每一位学生的表现。对英语成绩较好的学生，教师可以适当地加快语速，提稍微难一点儿的问题。对于学困生，教师要多留出一些简单的问题，让他们也能参与到会话中来。
