化肥英语：chemical fertilizer
化学肥料，简称化肥。用化学和（或）物理方法制成的含有一种或几种农作物生长需要的营养元素的肥料。也称无机肥料，包括氮肥、磷肥、钾肥、微肥、复合肥料等，不可食用。
它们具有以下一些共同的特点：成分单纯，养分含量高；肥效快，肥劲猛；某些肥料有酸碱反应；一般不含有机质，无改土培肥的作用。化学肥料种类较多，性质和施用方法差异较大。
土壤中的常量营养元素氮、磷、钾通常不能满足作物生长的需求，需要施用含氮、磷、钾的化肥来补足。而微量营养元素中除氯在土壤中不缺外，另外几种营养元素则需施用微量元素肥料。
化肥一般多是无机化合物，仅尿素[CO(NH2)2]是有机化合物。凡只含一种可标明含量的营养元素的化肥称为单元肥料，如氮肥、磷肥、钾肥等。凡含有氮、磷、钾三种营养元素中的两种或两种以上且可标明其含量的化肥称为复合肥料或混合肥料。
