水污染 英语：water pollution。
水污染是由有害化学物质造成水的使用价值降低或丧失，污染环境的水。污水中的酸、碱、氧化剂，以及铜、镉、汞、砷等化合物，苯、二氯乙烷、乙二醇等有机毒物，会毒死水生生物，影响饮用水源、风景区景观。
污水中的有机物被微生物分解时消耗水中的氧，影响水生生物的生命，水中溶解氧耗尽后，有机物进行厌氧分解，产生硫化氢、硫醇等难闻气体，使水质进一步恶化。中国水环境的前景令人担忧。
中国是一个水资源短缺、水灾害频繁的国家，水资源总量居世界第六位，人均占有量只有2500立方米，约为世界人均水量的1/4，在世界排第110位，已被联合国列为13个贫水国家之一。多年来，中国水资源质量不断下降，水环境持续恶化，由于污染所导致的缺水和事故不断发生，不仅使工厂停产、农业减产甚至绝收，而且造成了不良的社会影响和较大的经济损失，严重地威胁了社会的可持续发展，威胁了人类的生存。

水是疾病传播的重要媒介。水污染对人体的危害是多方面的，当人体受到化学有毒物质污染后，会引起人的急性或慢性中毒。如果汞、镉、砷、氰化物、农药、多氯联苯等侵入人体后，都可以引起人体中毒。污水中有害物质在土壤中积累并被植物吸收，加上不适当地使用化学农药，会使大量残留的有害物质散布到田间，继而污染粮食、蔬菜、烟叶等农副产品，引起疾病。另外，水污染还会引起水媒介的传染病，如人畜粪便等生物性污染，可以引起细菌性肠道传染病，如伤寒、痢疾、霍乱等。Water is an important medium for the spread of the disease.The harm of water pollution on the human body are many,when the human body by the toxic chemical pollution,cause acute or chronic poisoning people.
