At George A. Romero's invitation, Pegg and Wright made cameo appearances in Romero's film, Land of the Dead. In 2004 Pegg also starred in a spin-off of the television show Danger! 50,000 Volts! called Danger! 50,000 Zombies!, in which he played a zombie hunter named Dr. Russel Fell.Pegg at a premiere for Star Trek in April 2009Pegg's other credits include the World War II miniseries Band of Brothers, guest appearances on Black Books, Brass Eye Special, I'm Alan Partridge, The Parole Officer and in the Factory Records story 24 Hour Party People. 身在英国，不能不聊聊英国人Wallace和英国狗Gromit，尤其是在他们今年红透全世界之后。从小我就喜欢这种橡皮泥或是木偶做的动画片，像是《阿凡提》百看不厌，我已经不再是小孩儿了，但揣测可能在小孩儿的眼里，立体的就是真事，而平面的只是故事。《超级无敌掌门狗》在英国属于国宝级，就像我们年年能在电视里看到《西游记》，英国的圣诞节BBC年年都会搬出掌门狗。我看的第一个（共有四部）：《超级无敌掌门狗III：羊毛剪子剃光光(1995)》，就是在去年圣诞节的电视上，当时不觉得太特别，但是能理解为什么英国人对它如此这般的溺爱有加，因为Wallace就像是英国男人的缩影，Wallace的家会让每个英国人都觉得怎么自己像是身在其中。清楚地记得看完的那天晚上不知道为啥睡不着觉，数数，没想到脑子里蹦出了片子里面那群羊，跳来跳去，本来一、二、三。。。变成了一只羊、两只羊、三只羊......并清晰配有Wallace & Gromit里的画面。《超级无敌掌门狗I：伟大一日游(1989)》，是掌门狗之父Nick Park一个人手把手捏了六年捏出来的处女作，只有20分钟，却成了多少英国孩子童年回忆中的那个情结。这部片可以看出89年动画片的颇为有限的制作水平，灯光是阴暗得有点涣散的，不过英国人会辩说英国就是这天气。Wallace和Gromit的橡皮泥造型也没有之后的几部看上去那么平滑和动作流畅，不过让你比较20年前一个人用手捏的和现在梦工厂专业软件修补过的，你绝对会更钦佩前者。故事短小精悍，Wallace是个奶酪狂人，决定和Gromit去奶酪星球旅行，连他打造的飞船也是奶酪色的。奶酪星球上只有一个缺钱的坏脾气投币机器，看到了Wallace带来的地球上滑雪杂志开始做滑雪梦，Wallace他们却落荒而逃，甩下了想冲上飞船的投币机和被它拽掉的两根铁片，投币机灵机一动用两根铁片实现了在奶酪山坡上“滑雪”的梦。故事很短，却可以吸引你跟着它的发展，最后会心一笑。据说，Wallace在此片中提到了一种奶酪的名字，当初为了发音念出来可以露牙齿，却没想到意外地拯救了做这种奶酪的小作坊免于破产，多少算是功德一件。《超级无敌掌门狗II：危险裤子(1993)》，30分钟的影片画面开始有点呈现大片的雏形，Wallace家来了刚从监狱放出来的企鹅房客，一来就霸占了Gromit的房间，音乐开得老大，还谄媚给Wallace拿拖鞋，逼得Gromit离家出走（这情节多像《加菲猫〉）。幸好Gromit发现了企鹅用机器人裤子操纵Wallace偷钻石的阴谋，最后经过玩具小火车上一番惊险的大追捕，企鹅掉进了牛奶瓶意外被捕。这一集最好笑的一幕是，江洋大盗飞檐走壁要靠钩索，而这只企鹅却只需要——卷尺！《超级无敌掌门狗III：羊毛剪子剃光光 (1995)》，还是30分钟，画面信息量却加倍丰富了。干起了擦窗户生意的Gromit和Wallace（活儿都是Gromit干的），结识了一个做毛线生意的典型内向害羞的旧社会英国妇女Wendolene，却发现她在机器人恶狗Preston的控制下背地里绑架小绵羊并被preston做成狗罐头。Gromit意外的被当成凶手抓进监狱，最后被小羊们救出来。经过绞肉机上的一番惊险，机器恶狗被压扁并改造成面目一新，Wallace跟Wendolene的爱情小火花却没有点燃，也许他那时候就预见到自己的爱情归宿要在变成兔子之后。《超级无敌掌门狗IV：人兔的诅咒 (2005)》，梦工厂掏腰包的大制作，终于从短片（Short Film）晋升为动画电影（Animated Feature Film），画面精致逼真到连我这个大人也快要当真事的程度。财大气粗的梦工厂可以掏钱买3吨橡皮泥做人物，可以耗5年请250个动画师，可以用真玻璃做有几百种蔬菜的温室大棚，却不能改变Wallace的口音，最后固执的英国佬赢了有钱的美国佬，Wallace还是那个英国腔，Lady tottingham和victor也用的是英国生的美国人Helena Bonham Carter和“英国病人”Ralph Fiennes。Helena依旧是不露脸也能戏剧张力十足，一句：“In a HOUR!”（听起来像“In a 那——”）就足够让你忍俊不禁，这一部她的搞笑表演丝毫不逊她在老公Tim Burton的《僵尸新娘》里面的哀怨和动人，《人兔》最后赢了《僵尸新娘》，不知道她做何感想。这一部的评论要省略剧情，因为无论在哪找这部片子来看都很容易，留个悬念会让人看得更乐。单说让我笑翻的一幕吧，Gromit和Victor的恶狗在电动小飞机上搏斗，突然小飞机红灯闪：“请投币”，两个人立刻停止，Gromit囊中羞涩，恶狗一脸不屑，掏出了一个——绣花小荷包，得意地塞进1毛钱，两人继续搏斗。这应该算是美国式的幽默吧，对资金的妥协是难免的，配角都是美国腔，连Wallace开的卡车都赫然印着S.W.A.T（《洛城特警》）。英国人一定不得不接受有点无奈的现实，英国的奶酪掺进了美国味。
