Methods: firstly defined eligible Chinese herbal medicine and its adverse responses, then analyzed the causes for the adverse responses of Chinese herbal medicine from the following aspects: not taking the medicine dialectically, taking them not in accordance with their periods of treatment, overtaking, the quality of the medicine, etc. Results: to avoid the adverse responses of Chinese herbal medicine, the following three conditions should be paid attention: eligible Chinese herbal medicine, normal taking methods, and normal dosages.Besides the factor of incorrect clinical applied methods, some objective factors such as medicine's quality and differences between suffers can also cause adverse responses of Chinese herbal medicine. Conclusion: the security of Chinese herbal medicine has been paid attention by medicine field, thus we must grasp scientific methods to evaluate them objectively, and prevent their adverse responses positively, and adopt some relative measures.
