电灯泡：主要指男女谈恋爱时碍手碍脚又不知趣的第三者。
很多人认为灯泡可以发光，而影响了现场浪漫气氛，这是一个误解。日常生活中多用于第三人调侃另两个人之间较为亲密的关系。因为在粤方言里有一个歇后语，电灯胆——唔通气（电灯泡——不通气）。
灯泡，是真空的物体，不能通气的；广东话之“唔通气”，是指一个人不懂世情，不知回避的意思。后来随着语言交流的扩大化，使得普通话中电灯泡也多了这一层意思。
