英语从娃娃抓起是中国的悲哀 王冲我的孩子刚满三岁，最近频频接到幼儿英语教育机构的电话。什么美国外教，全英文教学环境，让你的孩子从小就练就一口纯正的英语，云云。收费当然不菲，大约是一个月5000元左右。而周围的家长，也早让孩子学起了英语，“学了未必是优势，不学肯定是劣势”。除了中国之外，没有哪个国家会把英语强调到比本国语言还重要的程度。这绝对令人悲哀。语言的背后是文化，而文化的背后是实力，英语在世界范围内的盛行是英美体系获胜的结果。中国虽然经济快速发展，但软实力不够，语言文化的发展落后于经济的发展，自信心不足，故而才有对英语的崇拜；对英语的崇拜，实际上是对本民族文化不自信的体现。目前，全世界20亿人在学英文，其中大量在中国，两亿多中学生为了英语考试而奋斗，大学生也为了过四六级狂背单词。欧洲国家可以讲两三种语言者大有人在，但德国、法国这样的大国，都重视对本国语言的保护。在德语不断受到外来语冲击的情况下，德国政界和学界一再提出，制定一部法律来保护德国语言，德国语言学学会也提出，德国文化部以及各州文化部应改善中小学生德语教学和提高德语教学质量。法国也是如此，如果你到法国旅游用英语问路，甚至会有人装作听不懂而不予理睬。独独在中国，对英语的重视程度远远超过母语。这一点，连老外也有所察觉。8月29日的英国《独立报》发表文章，题目为“疯狂的英语：中国的语言老师如何成为名人”。文章说，在中国，英语会方便你旅行，提升你的社会地位，英语教师也变成了“名人”。不可否认，中国人对英语的热情是随着改革开放而开始的，是开放的必然产物，也是中国人渴望和外界交流的必然产物。这个产物在国家教育部门的强制性提倡下迅速发展，在逐渐演化为僵化的升学必考科目的同时，过度的商业开发也让它从一门语言变成商家谋利的工具。据悉，中国的英语培训产业价值150亿元，全国有5万多家语言培训机构，在北京，每年有至少20万人上各式各样的英语班。有需求就有市场，但造成这一畸形市场需求的一部分原因是教育部门的规定。改革开放之初对英语的重视是大有裨益的，但如今的重视显然过度。比如说，大学不通过四级不能毕业就是一个过时规定。实际上，大多数人一辈子用不到几次英语，举国学英语，投入太大，产出太小。这一点，教育部门似乎并没有意识到。据报道，从2009年起，上海高校将“试水”全英语教学，培养具有国际竞争能力的各类人才。今年首先计划在信息、金融、法律、生命科学等学科领域立项建设30至50门示范性全英语教学课程。（《新民晚报》10月12日）对此，我持怀疑态度，有没有水平足够高的老师？有没有这个必要？会不会在造就少数几个精英的同时，耽误了大多数学生？我想引用德国语言学学会主席安格莉卡·雷德尔的话回答这些问题。2008年，德国高等院校计划用英语替代德语作为教学语言，但是雷德尔对此表示反对，她说：“如果英语成为官方语言，那各国的语言就成了方言，我们只能在自己家里讲母语了，这给人的感觉就像在过去的殖民地国家一样。”对将来从事涉外事务的人才强化英语实用能力实属必要，有需求的人花钱去学英语也无可厚非，但全国性的强制学习完全没有必要。中国古人就说过术业有专攻，全民学英语只能制造全民疯狂，而这种疯狂正在商业利益的裹胁下侵蚀幼儿园的孩子。你知道，商人都会说这样一句话：孩子的钱最好赚。这背后，是父母望子成龙的心理。英语，是提升社会地位、出国的重要一环，因此，要从小抓起。其实，大可不必。英语并不艰深，一个英国农民，一辈子用的也就是1500个单词。把任何一个智商正常的3岁孩子扔到英国或美国的幼儿园，半年后都是一口流利的英语。我的大学老师，不是逼着大家背英文单词，而是逼大家背古文。他的观点是，母语水平到一定程度后，学外语其实很简单。倒是连中文文章都写不通顺，更让人担忧。

When we learn English,we should read more,speak more,listen to English from time to time and practise writing every day.Don't be afraid of making mistakes.Only in this way can we learn it well.learning English takes time so if we want to learn it well,we should spend much time practicing using English every day.Besides,we should listen to the teacher and take notes carefully in class.Go over what is learnt regularly and finish doing our homework carefully.If we have time,we'd better isten to English radio programmes,read English stories and newspapers,watch English films and TV programmes ,keep a diary in English .If we make mistakes,correct them at once and try not to make the same mistakes.What's more,we should look up new words in the dictionary before class and prepare each lesson carefully before class.I believe if we work hard and have good ways of learning English,we will learn English well..
