我个人认为后者sculpture 强调什么材质、小型的。前者statue在于强调表现或体现作品、大型的，比如像胜利女神雕像。sculpture （一件）雕刻或雕塑品，泛指。例：There are some interesting abstract sculptures in this gallery.statue 与实物形状大小相仿或大很多的雕像或雕塑品.例：Statue of Liberty

The Hong Kong Film Award for Best Picture不要忘了前面的"The"从来没有什么奖项是Best Story. 只有Best Picture (最佳故事片), Best Movie, or Best Film. "picture"最为贴切.
