当线圈中通有电流IS时，由于气隙磁场的作用而产生的电磁力矩推动线圈偏转。线圈在偏转过程中，支承它的张丝发生扭曲变形，同时产生与电磁力矩方向相反的弹性回复力矩，该力矩与线圈偏转角成正比。
