【用法区别】
direct用作副词时基本意思是“直接地”“直达地”“笔直地”,指径直地,不绕道地,表示实际距离,从甲地到乙地一直走,也可用来强调直接性,也可表示“一直”,多修饰动态动词,引申还可表示“直接地”“亲自地”,不经过第三者转手直接交付对方。
directly作“直接地”解时,多用于比喻义,修饰形容词,一般不用于指实际距离,而用于借喻中,强调对人或事的直接性。directly还可以替代连词 as soon as,作“一…就”解,后面的时间状语从句中的谓语动词通常不用一般将来时,而用一般现在时来表示将来的动作。
