Spring festival (Chinese New Year), Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival The Chinese Spring Festival is also called Chinese New Year. It starts from the first day of first lunar month and ends at 15th day of the same month Which is also called Lantern Festival. When the Chinese New Year is coming, people will make special purchase for the new year and clean the houses. Many people buy beautiful flowers to decorate the houses. On the Chinese New Year Eve, The family members unite together and have a very delicious dinner. From the first day of the New Year, people will pay a new year call to each other. Children play games cheerfully. Parents will give red envelope (money inside) to children and hope that the children grow up healthily. The Dragon Boat Festival is on the fifth day of fifth lunar month. On that day, people usually eat traditional Chinese rice-pudding. Some people will take part in dragon boat racing. The dragon boat racing is for memorizing Qu Yuan, a National hero of more than 2500 years ago. The dragon boat gets it name, because its shape likes a dragon. The Mid-Autumn Festival is on th fifteenth day of eighth lunar month. On that evening, people sacrifice the Moon and eat Moon Cakes. Normall people think the moon is the most full one on that evening. After sacrificing the Moon, people enjoy the glorious full moon while eating the moon cake.
