最滑稽荒诞的诗人——纳什brief introduction of ogden nash ogden nash (1902-1971), a master of light, whimsical, and sometimes nonsensical verse, started his writing career at doubleday page publishers, where he wrote his first children’s book with joseph algers, the cricket of garador, in 1925. his first piece of satiric verse spring comes to murray hill was published in 1930. in an environment in which people cared little about poetry, nash managed to be one of the most popular and most quoted poets of his time. his turn of the phrase, his puns, and his nonsensical rhymes appealed to people of all ages. he was well regarded by critics and the public alike for his inventive titles, his unlikely rhymes, and his ridiculous play on words. nash possessed a style that was very irregular indeed. sometimes his poems contained only a handful of words; at other times they went on for several lines before ending in a clever or sometimes nonsensical rhyme. on many occasions he invented a word to fit the rhyme. not only are his lines and rhymes irregular, but the length of his poems varied greatly. some verses would go on for pages at a time, while others began and ended abruptly in two lines. although the atlantic monthly heralded nash as "god’s gift to the united states" for his insightful commentary on 20th-century america, his work had international appeal. his poems were humorous not only because they made people laugh, but also because they contained some truth of human experience. he believed that his writing was not just for kids, but rather lay in a gray area between child and adult worlds. Irish author george augustus moore was born february 24, 1852, at moore hall, county mayo. most of moore's childhood was spent in ireland, where he was tutored locally. in 1861 he was sent for formal education at oscott. he withdrew from the school in 1867, after an experience which he described with bitterness in confessions of a young man (1888)。 from 1869 to 1873 moore lived in london, where his father had moved the family in 1869 after his election to parliament in 1868. after his father's death in 1870, moore painted, visited art galleries, and led a gentleman's life in england. from 1873-1880 moore lived in paris, studied at l'ecole des beaux arts and the jullian's academy, and met many of the period's avant-garde painters and writers. notable among the many he encountered were mallarme, manet, monet, degas, pissarro, renoir, sisley, and zola. although moore exhibited some talent as a painter, moore did not believe his ability was sufficient for creating great art. in the 1870s moore began to write and had probably written a comedy titled worldliness by 1874. no copies of this initial work have survived. his first published work was a volume of poems titled flowers of passion (1878)。 the book of poems was followed by martin luther (1879), a tragedy written in collaboration with dramatist bernard lopez. financial difficulties forced his return to london in 1880, where he worked at earning a living by writing. in 1883 george moore's first novel, a modern lover, appeared. during the 1880s and 1890s his works included a mummer's wife (1885), confessions of a young man (1888), and esther waters (1894)。 in 1901 moore left london and settled in dublin, ireland, where he wrote and produced plays, gave speeches defending the theatre movement, and began writing material which reflected his irish heritage. during this period he wrote the collection of stories, the untilled field (1903); a novel, the lake (1905); and his three-volume autobiography, hail and farewell (1911-1914)。 in 1911 moore returned from ireland and lived at 121 ebury street in london until his death in 1933. from 1911 to 1932 moore wrote numerous books, including the brook kerith (1916), a story-teller's holiday (1918), avowals (1919), heloise and abelard (1921), daphnis and chloe (1924), ulick and soracha (1926), and aphrodite in aulis (1930)。 19世纪80到90年代间他又创作了包括《一个哑剧演员的妻子》(a mummer's wife,1885),《一个青年的自白》(confessions of a young man,1888)以及象征自然主义的《伊斯特·沃特斯》(esther waters,1894)等在内的几部小说。 在这期间他完成了一本故事集《未开垦的荒地》(the untilled field,1903);小说《湖》(the lake,1905);以及自传三部曲《致敬与告别》(hail and farewell,1911-1914)。 ………………………………………… 1911到1931年间,莫尔又创作了许多佳作,包括象征主义的耶稣传《凯里斯溪》(the brook kerith,1916),《说谎者的假日》(the story-teller's holliday,1918)《坦承》(avowals,1919),散文诗似的传奇《爱洛绮斯和阿贝拉》(heloise and abelard,1921),《达佛涅斯和克洛伊》(daphnis and chloe,1924),《尤里克和索拉察》(ulick and soracha,1926),还有《阿佛洛狄特在奥里斯》(aphrodite in aulis,1930)。

The author of a new book on the Facebook founder reveals some of the characteristics that makes Mark, Mark. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is one of the youngest billionaires in the world, and avisionary with over a billion customers affected by his decisions on a regular basis. Of course, Mark doesn't run Facebook by himself, but he has created a culture and brought in top level partners like Sheryl Sandberg to run areas where her strengths are most appropriate. According to the author of Think Like Zuck, Ekaterina Walter, entrepreneurs like Zuckerberg use five main factors in creating their company: Purpose, passion, product, people and partnerships. Walter, who is a "social innovator" at Intel, interviewed many employees and Facebook partners to learn more about what it means to think like Zuck. The 5 P's5P原则"Every entrepreneur's vision is unique," said Walter. She continued: "Zuck's passion fueled his purpose, and based on this passion he knew exactly where he wanted to go. His vision was 'How do I make the world more social and provide radical transparency?' Purpose should be center of every business. If you don't know where you want to go, it won't work. Zuck knows his purpose regardless of external pressures, and provides clear direction for long-term strategy. Purpose then builds to create a solid product that people can relate to and use. But you can't create it alone, you need to bring the right people on board, create a culture fit, and get them to stand behind your purpose. You also need to partner smartly, with vendors, customers, or employees, and these partnerships need to compliment your skills and needs."“每个企业家的视角都是独特的,”瓦尔特说。 For example Sandberg compliments Zuck in many of the operational areas of the company. Can You Really Build a Company from Purpose? In the book, Walter discusses how business interests should align with the entrepreneur's personal philosophy. Her example was Jake Nickell of Threadless, whose purpose is to empower the community of artists to share their artwork with people around the world. "He knew nothing about business or fulfillment, but helped make these artists visible, and brought a community to life," she said. I asked if every entrepreneur needs such a grand purpose. Walter cited pizza franchise owner Ramon DeLeon who delivers pizza through the snow, or randomly to pregnant women who tweet that they're hungry, because he's passionate about customers. For him, it's not about the food, but it's about the customers. "Even a coffee shop owner must love coffee, must love customers coming in," she added. That's their equivalent of making a great product like Zuck and the Facebook team. Is Fun at Work Just a Gimmick? Facebook provides free lunch, and has all nighter hackathons. Zappos managers sit in a monkey pit of decorations, palm trees, and bananas. Is this all just a gimmick? "There is time for play and time for work at these companies," said Walter. "They hire people who fit the culture, and it doesn't feel like work. Facebook has free meals so their people can sit together and talk about ideas, meet other team members, and create relationships. I meet with all my teammates at Intel, take them out to lunch, and learn about them. When you know them personally, you have an opportunity to help them, createadvocacy, and create influence in a matrix organization. If you can be flexible with an employee that's dealing with a personal crisis, you will get back loyalty."facebook公司给员工提供免费午餐,还有通宵黑客马拉松。 Leaders are Like Hummingbirds领导者就像蜂鸟One of the best areas of the book, and one that I would have expanded upon, is Walter's "Hummingbird Model of Leadership." She cites 10 factors that are like characteristics of a humming bird, but the most important to her is flexibility. "Hummingbirds can fly forwards, backwards, and they can stop and hover, which few other animals can do. Leaders need the ability to go fast when needed, stop, think, assess and have an environment of agility where they can learn and move with flexibility. Leaders like Zuck and Jobs have this kind of ability. They have intuition, and they trust their purpose. For example, Zuck had the idea of Facebook as a platform in his "Book of Change" notes years before it was announced at the developer conference."
