高考英语词汇详解：affairs的用法
1. 表示一般性的“事”或“事情”，与 thing, matter, business, event 等大致同义，是可数名词：
That’s my affair, not yours. 那是我的事，不是你的事。
It’s an affair of great importance. 这是件很重要的事。
The affair wasn’t so easily settled. 这件事不那么容易解决。
2. 在口语可以模糊地表示“活动”、“事件”、“东西”等，且多与叙述性的`形容词或定语连用：
The meeting was a noisy affair. 会议开得很吵闹。
The party was a dull affair. 这次聚会单调乏味。
Last year’s Christmas was a merry affair. 去年的圣诞节过得令人愉快。
3. 有时表示重要的事情、事务，或复杂含混的情况、事态等，通常用复数形式，且一般不与定冠词连用：
The minister deals withimportant affairs of state. 这位大巨处理重要的国务。
