1. rise 是不及物动词，后面不接宾语。表示“升起，升高，上升” 如： The sun is rising. He rose and stepped out of the room. 2. arise 也是不及物动词。表示“产生，发生，出现，形成” That fashion arose twenty years ago. When opportunities arise, seize them. 3. arouse 及物动词，表示“激起，激发”后接“兴趣，好奇心，情感态度”类的宾语 That movie aroused a stonger sense of sadness among middle-aged women. 4. raise 及物动词， 表示“使......上升；提高......，提升......"此外还有”抚养，饲养......“之意。 He was proud of having the chance to raise the national flag every Monday morning when he was in middle school. Farmers in the village raise some chickens for meat and eggs.
