我大学是英语专业的,词语辨析是我们的必修课,extremely和terribly都可以用来表示非常,但在含义和用法上都有区别,主要如下:
一:含义解释
extremely 英[ɪkˈstriːmli] 美[ɪkˈstriːmli] adv. 极其; 极端; 非常;
terribly 英[ˈterəbli] 美[ˈterəbli] adv. 非常; 很; 非常地; 很厉害地; 可怕地。
extremely侧重于正向的强调,terribly多为负面,有"可怕地"的意味,偶尔在口语中表示正向的"非常"。
二:用法区分
terribly 多用于表示不好的情况,但是也可以用于表示正面的情况(这点在口语中经常出现)
例如: terribly lucky 幸运极了 - He speaks Chinese terribly well. 他的汉语讲得非常好。
