匈奴一词为汉语音译匈奴语（无文字）所得，是指的汉朝时期所面对的匈奴政权，以匈奴人为主，兼指匈奴统治下的其他游牧民族（参考《汉书》等典籍的记载可知）。而英文Hun则来自罗马人的记载，指的是阿提拉帝国的民族，他们可能是西迁的一支匈奴人携带阿兰人西征形成的一个民族，至今学术界还不是特别能确定得认为他们就是汉朝时期的那波匈奴人。只有一战的德国皇帝威廉二世提出了种族主义偏见“黄祸论”之后，才有西方人强行把匈人Hun跟汉朝的匈奴人扯上关系，都是为了与“黄祸论”扯上关系，渲染对立与仇恨。在严谨的历史学叙述里，一般仍不把匈人与匈奴人混同。所以，实际上，在英文里是没有汉朝“匈奴”这个概念的。现在英文已经开始笼统地借匈人Hun这个词来记载汉朝时的东方匈奴，所以，可以这么用。但如果他们不选择这样，也可以走音译路线，直接用已经成为国际标准的拼音Xiongnu来称呼匈奴。

Xi'an was the starting point of the world-famous Silk Road.It can be well likened to history mnseum.Moving around this old city is like going through thousands of years back in time.In this vast museum,you will see the Banpo Village Remains of a matriarchal community;the Huaqing Pool which was noted as early as the Zhou dynasty more than 3000 years back;Qin shihuang's Terracotta Wariors and Horses,known as the eighth wonder of the world;the imperial cemetery grounds of the Han and Tang dynasties;the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Small Wild Goose pagoda built in the Tang dynasty;the Bell Tower and the Drum tower of the Ming Dynasty;and the Forest of Steles with a rich collection of age-old stone tablets.好像文不对题
