您好，个人认为这里的（普遍性）应该是从2个地方看出来的：1）so many similar instances（太多类似的实例）2）occuring simultaneously all over the world（同时在世界各地发生）也就是（同样的情况在全球各地同时间发生）应该就是第一句的汉语使用了（普遍性）的来源；因为假如不是全球普遍的现象，那么应该是（不同的情况）在（不同的地区）在（不同的时间）发生才对。

根据我在百度翻译上查询的情况，文学书籍的译文是Literature book。
