周长英文单词

对这个问题我有一样的疑惑。有人说S是英文Square的缩写，C是Circumference的缩写。但，面积在英文中更为切确的词是Area，而Square则是平方的意思。而对于汉语所说的周长的英文分两个，一个是多边形(polygon)的周长是Perimeter，另一个则是圆的周长Circumference.所以英美国家一般用A表示面积，周长则分为P和C。很多中国学生去到国外就有可能会不适应。另一个解释就是S是相当于英文中的Size，有尺寸的意思，但尺寸用英文表示的话更贴近的有dimension.基于以上所述来看，中国的数学还应该更进一步与世界接轨才行。既然用英文字母表示数学公式，就应该用通用的，以免阻碍或束缚发展。
