生产日期有两种缩写方式：
1、PD， 即production date。
2、MFG，即manufacturing date。
生产日期是指商品在生产线上完成所有工序，经过检验并包装成为可在市场上销售的成品时的日期和时间。现在大多数企业都逐渐把产品的生产日期和生产批号统一化。
另外，现行的强制性国家标准GB 7718－2011《食品安全国家标准 预包装食品标签通则》对生产日期（制造日期）给出了明确的定义：“食品成为最终产品的日期。”
化妆品的生产日期
1、瓶身标志上
经常出现在化妆品瓶身上的上述标志，一串由数个英文字母和数字组成的字符串。
2、生产批号
欧美的护肤品都标有正确的生产批号，日本的生产批号较乱，生产批号是每生产一批一个批号。一般的护肤品保质期三年，彩妆五年。
