《白雪公主和七个小矮人》的作者是格林兄弟，格林兄弟出身官员家庭，均曾在马尔堡大学学法律，又同在卡塞尔图书馆工作和任格延根大学教授，1841年同时成为格林科学院院士。

是德国的两位博学多识的学者民间文学研究家、语言学家、历史学家，著有《德语语法》、《古代德国法律》、《德国神话》、《德国语言史》及未及完成的《德语词典》。
