人=肉体+灵魂，肉体是灵魂的房子。人死了，就是灵魂离开肉体，灵魂会再去投胎。但是投什么样的胎那就难说了。佛家有“六道轮回”之说，也就是灵魂可能在“地狱、饿鬼、畜牲、人、阿修罗、天人”六道中轮回投胎。俗称“六道轮回”。在六道中，前三道被称为“三恶道”，一旦落入三恶道，将痛苦无不边，很难超脱。通过修炼，达到“罗汉、菩萨、佛”的状态，灵魂可以避免轮回，也就是古人讲的“跳出三界外，不在五行中”。所以，鬼神是存在的，和我们人类社会一样，是六道众生之一。但是鬼并不是与我们人类生活在同一个空间中，他们生存的空间与人类的空间是交错的。在偶尔的情况下，有缘分的人能感觉到或看到鬼神。人类通过修炼，达到“禅定”的状态，就可突破四维--时间，与另外空间的生命进行沟通。
