fall的基本意思有，是向更低的位置纵向移动，意为“降落，落下，摔下，倒下”“(突然)跌倒”“下降，降低”。

fall down
表示状态的变化，常指陷入不够理想的境地，意为“战斗中受伤倒下，阵亡”“进入…状态”“失去权力，失势，垮台”“被打败，被攻克”“(脸色)突然阴沉下来”。
