Desertification Desertification is becoming a serious problem in recent years. A table shows the trend of desertification in a region in two aspects. According to the table, area of 560 square kilometers was deserted in the 1980s. In the 1990s, the area of desertification took a leap to 810 square kilometers. In the following ten years, the number raised more slowly than the first ten years. The area of deserted land finally reached 980 square kilometers. The table also shows the frequency of sandstorms in the region. From 1980s to 1990s, the frequency of sandstorms raised sharply. Because the area of desertification took a turn to rise slowly, the frequency went up to 16, by about 30 percent only. Desertification is obviously an international problem now. It is caused by the decrease of woods and vegetation. The water in the ground is kept by the plants, so the land may turn to desert without enough plants. Desertification can cause bad weather like sandstorms and even change the climate of a region. And it also destroys the variety of plants and animals. So far there has not been an effective way to solve the problem completely. But there are many things humans can do to prevent the desertification from becoming more serious. Planting more trees or stopping cutting down woods would work. There is a long way to go

；我看见沙漠是无情的，让人类永远“留”在了那里……，于是，我想：如果让沙漠变成绿洲那该多好啊！那时候的人们，不再为环境保护问题而脑袋“乱透”了；不再为后来地球遭到破坏而愁眉苦脸；不再为人们去沙漠探险而担心啦！每天，西方的人们都会挑着一担担的“夕阳”回家，不考虑什么缺水问题了！每天沉迷于“富贵”的世界中；当沙漠变成绿洲的那一瞬间，那一棵棵绿油油的树木，胜似绿洲的女儿，在绿洲的呵护下健康的成长。那一株株小草，正在“贪婪”的吸食露水；河水清澈如明镜，简直是一尘不染！那个人被这种景色“充沛”的精神饱满，喝了一口水，那个人得救了！当然，现在的环保问题是困扰地球的。沙漠变成绿洲后，不再为沙漠漫延而苦恼；不用担心地球被消毁掉；我们的“死亡之海”－塔克拉马干沙漠也铺上了绿色的衣裳，给绝境中的人们带来了生的希望。绿洲不但对人有帮助，而且对动物也有不可缺少的好处。如果沙漠变成了绿洲，这儿空气清新，到处枝繁叶茂，百花齐放。这里没有人类的捕杀，就有不计其数的小动物来到这里，享受着属于它们的自由自在的生活……这些能变成现实吗？是的，我们要保护水源，植树造林。让阳光更加灿烂，使空气愈加清新，让天空更加蔚蓝，鸟声啁啾，流水淙淙，松涛阵阵，雨雪霏霏。绿洲是沙漠中的一颗绿星星，是沙漠中的唯一“水源”；如果所有的沙漠都变成了绿洲，浩瀚沙漠就披上了从没有穿过的绿衣服，无边的绿色衣服上，绣着成片的草地、大树、清澈的泉水……“植树造林镇风沙，遍地都是好庄稼”让我们携起手来，共同打造一个绿色的家园！
