相亲，国外的对应用词是“blind date”（又称：盲目约会；初次约会），但我认为更能显示中国相亲味道的词语，则是： “marriage interview”（专门为了婚姻目的的“相亲”）

相亲的英语：blind date，Blind Tom，draw the blinds。
1、blind date。
Blind表达有不知道的因素，date就是约会，blind date就是在不明白对方的情况下进行约会，就是我们俗称的相亲了。
例如：
Ted set Jane and Michael up on a blind date last week。
泰德上周为简和迈克尔精心策划了一场相亲。
2、Blind Tom。
这可不是盲人Tom的意思！这个词翻译为：捉迷藏。
blind就是使……失明、看不见，而Tom 是大众化的英文昵称。Blind Tom就是要先把Tom的眼睛蒙上让他看不见，因此连起来就是捉猫猫的意思啦。
3、draw the blinds。
可别直译为画盲人们，其实它的释义是拉窗帘。blinds用作名词有窗帘,百叶窗的意思。Draw可以表示拉上的动作，因此，draw the blinds可以表示为拉窗帘。
比方说：
1、She went to the window and raised the blinds。
她走到窗前，拉起了百叶窗。
2、Mother was lying on her bed, with the blinds drawn。
