About my character, I can’t describe it well, but generally speaking ,I am a hard_working student especially when I do the things I am interested in. And I am optimistic and confident. Sometimes I prefer to stay alone, reading, listening to music, but I am not lonely, In my spare time,I often go shopping with my friends,surf on the Internet and do some sports,such as running,table tennis and roller_skating. I like badminton very much.I even got the 4th place in the badminton Competition in my school,which was a very glorious memory.But now since I’m faced with School and activities,I can’t spend too much time doing sports.But this busy life has also taught me how to balance between study and entertainment.Also I love English very much.I often write compositions to improve my witten ability, but I know my English is not good enough,I still need to make an effort. As this is the first gathering for our freshmen to meet each other, so there is nothing to be talked about in connection with our college life. I just want to say something about my hometown. After having carried out the policy of the contracted land program, my village has put on a new look. Like thecities everywhere in China, there set up a lot of new tall buildings in the vicinity of my village. The former old houses have been demolished and the original house sites have been transformed into arable lands. All farmers have moved into their new flats inside the tall buildings. Of course they all feel very happy. They are now living a very happy life. The oldfarmers who are over sixty, receive a pension of more than 200 yuan a month and the lonely and disabled ones are now living in the old people’s home. When I studied in the high middle school, I would help my father withrice planting and harvesting in spring and autumn. I usually got veryexcited whenever I saw the golden-sea like rice fields.
