常见表达有这样几种： 1.His spirit seemed broken. 看来他的精神崩溃了。 2.He almost broke down. 他精神几乎崩溃。 3. Break up 有分成碎片的意思，而break down多指崩塌，倒塌，有引申的含义，比如一个政权或者国家的消亡。另外可以参照下面的cut down和cut up的用法去理解：The wood cutter is cutting down the big tree. 伐木工人正在砍倒那棵大树。The wood cutter is cutting up the fallen tree. 伐木工人正在把倒下的大树砍碎。
