在学习英语的时候，我们或许总是用中式思维去思考，以致于英语说得不地道，总感觉哪里怪怪的，但一些歪果仁的常用口语表达并不能按字面意思去理解。 01 party animal 大多数人或许就会直接译为“动物派对”或“派对动物”，这样理解肯定是不对的，正确的意思： 英文释义：someone who enjoys parties and party activities very much and goes to as many as possible. party animal：热衷于参加社交聚会的人，派对狂 Sarah's a real party animal. She takes every opportunity he gets to go to a party. Sarah真是一个派对狂，她不会放过任何一个参加派对的机会。 各种“聚会”表达： dinner party：（在家举行的）宴会，家宴 house-warming party：乔迁聚会 cocktail party：鸡尾酒会 fancy-dress party/costume party：化装舞会 baby/wedding shower：（为即将分娩或结婚的女性举办的）送礼会 02 as cool as a cucumber “cucumber”这个词就是我们平时所说的“黄瓜”，直译就是“像黄瓜一样凉爽”，这时就可以联想到“冷静”，其实呢，这则经典习语最早出现在约翰·盖伊在1732年的诗作《New song on new similes》。诗中他写道：“I ... cool as a cucumber could see The rest of womankind”。现在这则习语就是用来表示一个人镇定自若，冷静沉着。 He kept as cool as a cucumber in this dangerous situation. 在这个危险的环境中他表现的镇定自若。 03 That's the ticket That's the ticket ≠ 这就是那张票（×） 这个习语源于十九世纪。“Ticket”在这里指的是中了彩票的票或者是接济穷人的免费食物券。当一个人饿着时，他得到一张免费食物券。这正是他所最需要的。所以“That's the ticket”就是用来表达：这正是我需要的。 That's the ticket.
