catch up with是个固定搭配，意思是：赶上……因为前面已经有了Jim's这个修饰词了lot of这个结构本来就不对，要用，也是a lot of或者lots of，表示范围当中，一般用many ofhard本身可以做副词，表示努力，hardly虽然是副词，但意思变成了：几乎不mean是动词，meaning是现在分词go into后面接名词或者代词表示在某个范围当中用in the west，表示在范围外，但是接壤，用on the west，例如：Tibet is in the west of China. Korea is on the northeast of China.和一般疑问句的回答相同应该是on the card
