舍得是不想放弃(don't want to give something up)的意思，英语里没有对应词（corresponding words）,但是英语里有舍不得 begrudge,grudge。所以舍得是要用not begrudge结构。（——外研社汉英词典） 例如: 练跳舞必须舍得钱。 To learn dancing one mustn't begrudge money. 不过要是想表达“我舍不得你”的意思的时候，英语里一般用： I hate to leave you.或者I hate to lose you.
