Impatiens balsamina L., also known as henna, acuteness, etc., is a plant of Impatiens in the family Narcissus. The flower and leaf are often used to dye nails, and the stem and seed are used as medicine.
The stem has the effect of removing rheumatism, promoting blood circulation and relieving pain. Because its flower head, wing, tail and foot are all like a Phoenix, it is also called Golden Phoenix. Native to India, Malaysia and China.
The whole plant of Impatiens consists of six parts: root, stem, leaf, flower, fruit and seed. Leaves alternate, lowest leaves sometimes opposite; leaf blade lanceolate, narrowly elliptic, or oblanceolate. Flowers solitary or 2-3 clustered in leaf axils, without total pedicel, white, pink or purple, single or double.
Impatiens like sunshine, afraid of humidity, heat and cold. Sunny terrain and loose fertile soil can also grow in the poorer soil.
Fengxian peanut has strong storage capacity, good adaptability, and few diseases and insect pests. If the temperature is high and the humidity is high, the powdery mildew can be prevented by spraying with 800 times of 50% thiophanate wettable powder.
In case of leaf spot, 50% carbendazim wettable powder 500 fold solution can be used for prevention and treatment. The main pest of Impatiens is the moth, whose larvae will eat the leaves of Impatiens. If this pest is found, it can be caught and eliminated manually.

narcissus 水仙花 ( nahr-SIS-uhs )
源出希腊神话。在希腊神话中，Narcissus（那喀索斯）是位美少年，但他只爱自己不爱别人。回声女神厄科（Echo）向他求爱，遭到拒绝以后日渐憔悴，以至最后躯体消失，只留下她的声音在山林中回响。
爱神阿佛洛狄特（Aphrodite）为了惩罚Narcissus，让他迷恋上自己在水中的倒影，最后憔悴而死。他死后化为水仙花，narcissus也因此成了这种花的花名。人们在小溪旁和池塘边经常可以看到这种花低垂着头，仿佛在痴痴地望着自己在水中的倩影，顾影自怜，自我陶醉。
据此，由narcissus派生出narcissism一词，意为“自恋”、“自我陶醉”或“孤芳自赏”。该派生词是奥地利精神病学家弗洛伊德（Sigmund Freud，1856－1939）创造的。另有一词narcotic（麻醉剂）亦源于此，得名于某些水仙花具有的麻醉催眠作用。
