八月一日是中国人民解放军建军节。它起源于8月1日的南昌起义，中国共产党领导的革命时期的人民正义在中国。
1927年8月1日，南昌起义将是中国共产党向国民党第一反动派发射的第一把步枪，标志着中国进入了中国共产党在军备革命中独立领导的新时代，标志着新中国共产党的诞生。
1933年7月，共和国临时中央政府中国苏维埃联盟决定于8月1日成立工农红军（中国人民解放军的前身）。此后，8月1日成为中国人民解放军建军日。在建军节期间，我们将集中力量，在全国范围内开展“支持军队、优待烈士家属、支持政府、珍惜人民”活动，纪念人民军队的诞生。

建军节军旗，是象征军队或建制的旗帜。中国人民解放军军旗为红色，上缀金黄色的五角星及“八一”两字，表示中国人民解放军自1927年8月1日南昌起义以来经过艰苦卓绝的长期斗争，终于在党的领导下取得了中国革命的伟大胜利。
军旗主要用于参加典礼、检阅、隆重集会、游行等场合，由掌旗员掌握军旗，左右各有一名护旗兵，位于部队的前列。
