斗牛英语怎么读

一般是oxen，有时前面加个old 华尔街铜牛是Wall Street Charging Bull，奔牛。bull意为公牛，作为形容词有“上涨的”意思，所以股市中的牛市被称为bull。看过《越狱》的同学也许还记得，里面的罪犯将狱警称作bull，这也是一种俚语用法，大家其实也可以将训导主任称作bull（大不敬啊大不敬……）还有一个词，ox（复数oxen）也是公牛的意思，那么和bull有什么区别呢？在词典中ox的意思是成年的去势公牛（castrated），用来耕地、拉车的牛就是ox，是一种温顺的家养的牛。类似的还有bullock，指去势的小公牛。注意哦，十二生肖中的牛就是ox，不是bull，更加不是cow。其实，更常用的一个表示“牛”的词是cattle，这是一个中性的词，单复数一样，也可以作为家畜的总称：The cattle are in the shed. 牛都在牛栏里。提到牛就想到西班牙的斗牛，在英语中“斗牛”是corrida，这个词从西班牙语而来，法语中的“斗牛”也是la corrida
