乔治华盛顿 的经典感恩节致词 供楼主参考格式及用词。famous thanksgiving quotations George Washington in his first Presidential Proclamation: "It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor."―October 3, 1789 Samuel Adams, father of the American Revolution: "It is therefore recommended ... to set apart Thursday the eighteenth day of December next, for solemn thanksgiving and praise, that with one heart and one voice the good people may express the grateful feelings of their hearts and consecrate themselves to the service of their divine benefactor ..."―November 1, 1777 (adopted by the 13 states as the first official Thanksgiving Proclamation) Abraham Lincoln, during the Civil War: "We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown."―1863 Sir John Templeton: "How wonderful it would be if we could help our children and grandchildren to learn thanksgiving at an early age. Thanksgiving opens the doors. It changes a child’s personality. A child is resentful, negative―or thankful. Thankful children want to give, they radiate happiness, they draw people." Albert Schweitzer: "To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude." William Faulkner: "Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: it must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all." Anne Frank: "I do not think of all the misery, but of the glory that remains. Go outside into the fields, nature and the sun, go out and seek happiness in yourself and in God. Think of the beauty that again and again discharges itself within and without you and be happy." Theodore Roosevelt: "Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds."―1901 John Fitzgerald Kennedy: "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." 以下为礼仪祝词。 希望能帮到楼主。开幕/闭幕式 opening/closing ceremony开幕词 opening speech/address致开幕词 make an opening speech友好访问 goodwill visit阁下 Your/His/Her Honor/Excellency贵宾 distinguished guest尊敬的市长先生 Respected Mr.Mayor远道而来/来自大洋彼岸的朋友 friends coming from a distant land/the other side of the Pacific东道国 host country宣布……开幕 declare……open值此之际 on the occasion of借此机会 take this opportunity to以……名义 in the name of本着……精神 in the spirit of代表 on the behalf of由衷的谢意 heartfelt thanks友好款待 gracious hospitality正式邀请 officioa invitation回顾过去 look back on展望未来 look ahead/look into the future最后 in closing圆满成功 a complete success提议祝酒 propose a toast1.我愿借此机会,代表我们代表团的全体成员,对我们东道主的诚挚邀请,表示真诚的谢意。On the behalf of all the members of my mission, I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to our host for their earnest invitation.2.现在,我愉快地宣布第二十二届万国邮政联盟大会开幕。Now, I have the pleasure to declare the 22nd Universal Postal Congress open.3.我很荣幸地代表中国政府和人民向来自联合王国的代表团表示热烈的欢迎。I have the honor to express this warm welcome on behalf of the Chinese Government and people to the delegation from the United Kingdom.4.我谨向各位表示最热烈的欢迎。I would like to extend my warmest welocme to all of you.5.我预祝大会圆满成功!I wish the conference a complete success!婚礼祝词This is the moment,This is the all.Our eyes are tearing, my dear friends, When you walk down the aile. You have found the true love of your life, and your long lonelysearch has come to an end,So all you have to do is to bring little angels to the world, as many as you can.As the love is all around you, you can sing joyfully like a lark,And give each other all your loving, to light up your way in the dark.So ………..Stand by each other,be in each other’s arm no matter in happiness or in tears.Stand by each other, when the cold rain starts to fall, and yourhearts are fill with fears.Stand by each other, when you are too old to chew.Stand by each other, when you are lost not even God can find you.So love your love, that’s all we pray,With all the blessings,May happiness be with you all the way.God bless you!!餐桌礼仪1) As soon as the hostess picks up her napkin(餐巾), pick yours up and lay it on your lap. Sometimes a roll of bread is wrapped in it; if so, toke it our and put it on your side plate.2) The Soup CourseDinner usually begins with soup. The largest spoon at your place is the soup spoon. It will be beside your plate at the right-hand side.3) The Fish CourseIf there is a fish course, it will probably follow the soup. There may be a special fork for the fish, or it may be similar to the meat fork. Often it is smaller.4) The Meat CourseThe main Course is usually served by the host himself, especially if it is a fowl(鸡禽) or a roast which need to be carved. He will often ask each guest what piece he prefers, and it is quite proper to state your preference as to lean or fat, dark(红肉) or light(白肉).5) Using Knife and ForkIf you have English and American friends you will notice a few differences in their customs of eating. For the main or meat curse, the English keep the fork in the left hand, point curved downward, and bring the food to the mouth either by sticking the points onto it or in the case of soft vegetables, by placing it firmly on the fork in this position with the knife. Americans carve the meat in the same position, then lay down the knife and taking the fork in the right hand with the point turned up, push it under a small piece of food without the help of the knife and bring it to the moth right-side-up.6) Helping Yourself and RefusingIf a servant passes food around, he will pass the dish in at your left hand so that you can conveniently serve yourself with your right hand. Never serve yourself while the dish is on your right; it is then the turn of your neighbor on the right. It is polite to take some of everything that is passed to you. But if there is something you may not like, you may quietly say: "No thank you."7) Second HelpingsThe hostess may or may not ask if you would like a second helping, according to the formality of the meal. If she does and you accept it, you should pass your plate to her or to the servant with the knife and fork still lying on it.8) The Salad CourseA salad is eaten with a fork only held in the right hand with points turned up. There is usually a special one for the salad, a little smaller than the meat fork.9) Bread and ButterBread is taken in the fingers and laid on the side plate or the edge of the large plate, it is never take with a fork. Butter is taken from the butter dish with the butter knife and placed on the side plate, not on one's bread.10) Other Things on the TableWhen there are things on the middle of the table, such as bread, butter, jelly, pickles, nits, candies, you should not take any until the hostess ahs suggested that they be passed.11) Leaving the TableIt is impolite for a guest to leave the table during a meal, or before the hostess gives the signal at the end. When the hostess indicates that the dinner is over, she will start to rise from her seat and all the guests she rise from theirs at the same time.12) Various rules and SuggestionsSit up straight on your chair;Do not put much food in your mouth at a time;Drink only when there is no food in your mouth;Try not to get into your mouth anything that will have to be taken out;Do not make any nose when you eat;Do not clean your teeth at the table or anywhere in public, either with your finger or a tooth pick(牙签), not even with you tongue.
