一、疑问代词。
1） 疑问代词在句中起名词词组的作用，用来构成疑问句。疑问代词有下列几个：what, who, whose, which, whatever, whichever ,whoever等。
2） 疑问代词在句中应位于谓语动词之前，没有词性和数量的变化，除who之外也没有宾格的变化。what, which, whose还可作限定词。
二、疑问副词。
用来引导特殊疑问句，表示时间，地点，方式，原因等，常见的有：when, where, how, why等。

特殊疑问句有what、who、whose、which、when、where、how、why等。特殊疑问句是在英语中以特殊疑问词开头，对句中某一成分提问的句子。回答特殊疑问句时，不能用yes/no，即问什么答什么，尤其是简略回答。
