The Laba Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the lunar Chinese calendar. "La" is the name given to the 12th lunar month and 8 is pronounced as "ba" in Chinese, which translated is "Laba." There are several legends about the origin of this festivity and we could not tell which one is true. But what we know today is that this festival started as a sacrificial offering to ancestors. It was also a time for the ancient Chinese to pray to heaven and earth that there would be a bountiful harvest. Many people hoped for good luck as well for the coming year.

Traditionally, the Laba rice porridge is the most important element of the festival. Generally, the porridge contains eight ingredients which can include glutinous rice, red beans, millet, Chinese sorghum, peas, dried lotus seeds and some other ingredients, such as dried dates, chestnut meat, walnut meat, almond, peanut, etc. The porridge must be boiled for many hours and then offered as a sacrifice to the ancestors. This must be done before noontime. Also, it is tradition that family members eat the porridge together. Then they leave some as a symbol of hope for a good harvest the coming year.

Another custom is the soaking of Laba garlic. Garlic is soaked in vinegar for more than twenty days starting from Laba festival. Then when the Chinese New Year comes, the garlic and vinegar is used alongside jiaozi on the table.

In China, Mid-autumn Day is considered to be a symbol of family reunion. On this day, all the family members gather together at home to celebrate this special occasion. Last year, I could not celebrate the festival with my family because I was in university. However, this special day left a deep impression on me.

I still remember the atmosphere of that evening. All the students who could not go back home assembled in our classroom, having a party to celebrate this traditional festival. We tried our best to show our own enthusiasm. As an ethnic minority, I performed a peacock dance, which received warm applause. After the two-hour party, we went out to the playground and sat together to appreciate the moon because it is a tradition on Mid-autumn Day. We ate moon cakes, played cards, and listened to romantic poems recited by one of our classmates. In that harmonious atmosphere, nobody felt lonely or homesick even though we were far away from our homes.

Thanks to our classmates, I experienced such a colorful and interesting Mid-autumn Day at my university. Thus, I learned to value all the festivals I spent during my universit

Women's Day is over and father's Day is coming. I plan to do some housework for my father. Because dad is very industrious every day, sweeping the floor, cleaning the table, buying vegetables, cooking

I decided to help dad sweep the floor, mop the floor, clean the table and so on. I think I'll clean up the house. So I plan to mop the floor first. I mop the floor of my house as clean as a bath. I saw that the table was a little dirty, so I picked up the dishcloth and gave it up, which was soon wiped out.

In the evening, when my father came home, it was so clean. Who did the housework? My father looked at me curiously, and I volunteered: "ha ha, I did it, Dad, happy father's Day! This is my father's Day gift to you." My father was moved and said, "my son has grown up!"

Now people in growing numbers are beginning to realize that they prefer enjoying western festivals, such as the coming X'mas. There is a general discussion today about this issue.Certainly, this is a delicious sign of persity in the life. A lot of reasons are responsible for it.To begin with, the young men are exposed to the international minds or trends, and they are partly influenced. What's more, the western views have been spread widely, naturally, and culturally. Moreover, nowadays people have their rights to have a taste of various cultures. In other words, they may celebrate festivals they like besides the conventional days, like the Spring Festival. Obviously, this does some effects in our life. For example,it will arouse anxiety among so-called protectors of tradition. They unnecessarily worries that the western days are to replace the Chinese convention.Personally speaking, the policy of “let it be” will do more good that harm in this field. However,it is necessary that effective actions should be taken to prevent the negative effects of both traditional and western days.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous rice wrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves) and racing dragon boats. The festival is best known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes.

My favorite holiday is New Year. It is a very important festival in Chinese culture. In fact, it's the highlight of the year. Everyone returns home for a family reunion. We have a big feast and chat about all the things that have happened in our lives. People also visit each other. We exchange gifts and good wishes for the next year.

New Year is especially fun for kids. That's because we get presents and treats, including red envelopes filled with money. We also get to set off fireworks. But we never forget that this holiday is a time to give thanks. We feel grateful for our family and the things that we have. Finally, we think about the future and the great year ahead.

Dear Mike,

How are you? Im really glad that you are interested in traditional Chinese festivals. There are many traditional festivals in China, such as Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Day and so on. Id like to introduce the Spring Festival to you. Spring Festival is the most important traditional holiday in China. It usually lasts for 15 days.

Days before the festival, people clean their houses. They think cleaning sweeps any bad luck. They decorate their houses with paper cuts. On the eve of the festival, family members get together and have big meals. Then they watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. At midnight, they set off fireworks to welcome the new year. During the festival, kids get lucky money from old people. People visit their relatives and friends. They wish each a happy year and good luck. How happy we are.

Today is the annual national holiday, is a happy day.

I and my father and mother go to the zoo to play. We entered the park, we saw where the sea of people, like a long queue, more like a happy ocean.

Animal in the zoo is so much! There are cute little bunny, there are bulky gorillas, and that beautiful peacock. There are mandarin ducks in the water play, I throw food to them, they immediately ran over to snatch, really too cute. The most interesting is the monkeys of the iron gate, where they jump and jump, there is a group of macaques in the grab bottle! As long as some people take the bottle to tease them to play, they are very flexible to come to grab. Some naughty little children handed them Coke, they are not polite, took a big mouth to drink up. This is really a group of naughty and smart monkeys!

Go all the way, from time to time the birds flew over my head, twitter, as if to welcome us to come. The river fish in the free to swim, so comfortable, how I hope that they can become a fish, and they can play with them. Today is a good day, I really want to sing, the motherland I love you!

"In the middle of the day, who said that, the story of wangu is called qu yuan. The poem was written to commemorate qu yuan. The Dragon Boat Festival is also popular because of qu yuan. The custom of making zongzi and racing Dragon Boat Festival is to commemorate the patriotic poet qu yuan. Legend has it that the dragon-boat race was handed down by qu yuan, who died after saving the river.

In the 21st century, dragon boat racing is no longer just a memorial to qu yuan. It has evolved into one of the most passionate and fully embodied movements of the Chinese nation's struggle for upward mobility. Dragon boat racing is a monumental movement that not only breaks the boundaries of time and place, but also becomes an international competition and has gained new development.

Bao zongzi is also a commemoration of qu yuan, which has an irreplaceable significance. The zongzi itself is made of rice or glutinous rice, and the reed leaves are wrapped around the periphery, even if it is finished. Of course, there are all kinds of zongzi, and different areas will make different zongzi. Although a variety of shapes, but there is a common feature, that is very sweet and delicious, although the flavor is very different, but all the great man's yearning for qu yuan to the people.

You must be familiar with the Mid-Autumn festival. Today I will tell you about the traditional Chinese festival, the Mid-Autumn festival. The Mid-Autumn festival falls on the eighth day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar.

The Mid-Autumn festival falls on the 15th day of the lunar calendar and is also due to some astronomical phenomena, so the moon is the most round, like a large disc of jade. Everyone has heard the story of the "moon and the moon"! Chang 'e had a husband named houyi. One day houyi brought a few grains of daffodil, one to eat to be immortal, and two people could live forever. One night, houyi never came back. Chang 'e was very lonely, so she ate a grain of fairy and flew to heaven, and set up the palace on the moon. Houyi missed chang 'e very much. Therefore, every year on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, a table is held in the moon, hoping to spend the night with his wife, chang 'e. The Mid-Autumn festival was born. There is a custom in the Mid-Autumn festival, which is to eat moon cakes. Whenever the Mid-Autumn festival, I have about on a few good friends or together on the balcony, watching the whiteness of the moon, eating sweet sweet sweet moon cakes, that feeling is so good!

I love the festival!

The origin of the rabbit master is about the end of the Ming dynasty. As JiKun (about 1636) before and after the lifetime of the peony pavilion with draft: "Beijing Mid-Autumn festival to more mud tuan rabbit shape, dressed as a man, sit lidoas children enshrined and worshipped." In the qing dynasty, the rabbit's function has been transformed into a child's Mid-Autumn festival toy. The production is also increasingly elaborate, with the wearing of a suit of armor, a robe, a paper umbrella, or a paper umbrella, or sitting or standing. There's a unicorn tiger leopard and so on. There are also people dressed as rabbit heads, or shave their heads, or sew shoes, sell wontons, and tea soup.

"Every Mid-Autumn festival, the city man's coincidence, the use of the yellow earth to kneaded the rabbit as a sale, is called the rabbit master." In the old days of the Beijing east and fourth tower, there were the rabbit master stands, and the rabbit for the moon festival. Besides, there are also sales of candles in the southern paper shop. The rabbit master, the bold creation of folk artists, has been personified. It is the first person of the rabbit and holds the jade pestle. Later, some people imitate the characters of the opera, the knights of the rabbit and the rabbit, the knights of the golden helmet, some riding the lion, the elephant and the beast, some riding the peacock, the crane and the birds. Especially for the rabbit, who is a strange man, but a bold creation of folk artists. There is also a rabbit with elbow and jaw which is known as "scratches and scratches" and is more flattering. It's a gift for the moon, but it's a wonderful toy for children.

In the streets of Beijing, a few decades ago, some 60 or so old Beijing could still remember. By the fifteenth of July, the rabbit's stall was on its way. The front door five, the backdoor drum, the west one, the east four and so on, everywhere is a rabbit master stall, big and small, high low, the pendulum is extremely busy.
