Unlike western countries, Chinese focus more on the entirety of the society than individualism. This unconspicuous change might also convey more freedom for the development of individualism. Of course this is no doubt that nowadays in the capitalistically oriented market in China, individualism, or perhaps materialism are taking the public. But yet if the basic unity of society-the family-is divided into smaller group, there will be even less enthusiasm in the connection of each individual. But maybe with less restrictions, individualism will spark innovation and newly unrestricted ideas. And maybe with less interference of family, one can audaciously think and act.
