比合伙人更高级的称呼是高级合伙人。

现在国内很多人把Private Equity（PE）翻译成“私募股权投资”，似乎Private的意义在于资金募集渠道是否公开发行。这实际上存在一种误解，应当更多从投资角度来理解，也就是说，PE主要是投资于非公开发行的公司股权而得名。
