在漫威的“反英雄”中，毒液的人气一直以来都是蛮高的，夸张的造型，强悍的战斗力看得实在是让人大呼过瘾。如今毒液已经登上了大荧屏，他的出现意义非凡。
众所周知毒液的死对头之一就是蜘蛛侠，他和蜘蛛侠的关系可以说是相爱相杀，毒液人气之所以这么高也从某一方面来说也是借助了蜘蛛侠的人气。毕竟无论是在漫画中还是电影中蜘蛛侠的人气都是数一数二的。
电影中《毒液：致命守护者》讲述了埃迪·布洛克受到不明外星物质共生体的入侵与控制，成为亦正亦邪的超级英雄的故事。值得一提的事情是埃迪·布洛克是第三个被毒液附体人类。
《蜘蛛侠》中我们了解到毒液是个共生体的存在，他能赋予宿主强大的力量和能力。但是相对应的毒液能大大激发人性中的黑暗面，蜘蛛侠正是发现了这一点才将其分离出来。值得一提的事情是在母星上毒液即使不需要共生体也能生存下去，他们本身也不是那么的邪恶，这一方面取决于宿主的意志力，一方面取决于宿主的善良程度。
