长春外国语学校是于1963年9月在周总理的指示下创办的全国八所外国语学校之一，也是我国东北地区唯一的外国语学校。隶属吉林省教育厅。2001年学校被教育部指定为全国十三所保送外国语学校之一。外国语学校作为“具有专业性教育的特殊类型学校”和“我国中等外语教育的最高层次”，其主要任务是“为国家高等院校输送外语水平较高，一般文化知识较好的学生；为国家培养高水平的外语人才以及通晓外语的专门人才打好基础”。其次，还承担为我省经济建设培养中、初级外语人才的任务。长春外国语学校建校三十八年来，学校为国家培养近七千名各级各类外语人才，他们分别在国家外交、外贸、科研、教育、旅游及外向型企业等重要岗位上工作，其中在国家部委以及驻外使馆工作的多达五百人，有的直接工作在国家领导人身旁。从1985年起学校为北京大学、北京外国语大学、中国人大、上海外国语大学等重点院校保送学生529人。从1979年恢复高考起学校创造十一届高考状元的好成绩。学校还不失时机地选派学生参加国内外外语大赛并屡获金牌为国争光。长春外国语学校学校本部现有学生3000多人，开设英、日、俄三个语种。中学部学制为初中三年、高中三年；高师预备校学制四年；留学生部学生随时入校就读。学校面向全省提前单独招生，学生入校后实行寄宿制，使他们在良好的外语环境中从小养成用外语的习惯。长春外国语学校学校拥有全省一流教师队伍。现有教师200人。外语教师就占70人，国家级学科带头人2人，省级学科带头人8人，特级教师6人，高级讲师78人；从1980年起学校每年都要聘请一定数量的外国专家和外籍教师来校任教，以提高师生的外语听说水平。从1977年学校被定为长春市开放单位以来，学校共接待来自世界各地的访问团组二百多个，外宾两千多人。学校还从1989年起分别与俄罗斯、新西兰、日本、美国、加拿大、英国等国家的十多所兄弟学校建立了国际间校际教育联系。学校已办理学生公派、自费出国留学六百多人，教师出国进修、工作、访问已逾百人。学校在办学中要质量，在改革中求发展，正向国际性、现代化的目标迈进。地址：吉林省长春市红旗街46号邮编：130012电话：传真：

我是在校生的家长，这个学校堪称垃圾，老师及其不负责任，也无法确定师资的来源和资质。孩子在学校能学习到的知识是非常非常有限的，全凭自己在外面补课来补充，这样的学校最好不要来，不然就的后悔死。

Changchun Foreign Languages School is a provincial state school coming under Jilin Province Education Department.
