Dear Mr XX, I am sorry to tell you that I have decided to resign from the company after XX years' work with you. This is a very difficult dicision for me; however, after careful consideration of my future career I choose to join a newly started US company as a Purchasing manager. I have learnt a lot from you during the past few years and I really appreciate all your help and support. Nevertheless, I think it is the time for me to switch to a more challenging role. The US firm, although much smaller, could provide me more opportunities and flexibility in my career. After serious and careful consideration, however, I have to make this adjustment regarding my personal career development plan. I am sorry about the inconvenience it may bring to you and our team.The decision is really hard for me because our xxx team members and leaders are very nice, I have not only gained technical skills, but also learnt a lot on the art of management.
