Hi, everyone! I’m Cendy. I live in Nanhai. I’m 13 years old. I am tall and thin. Now, let me tell you something about my family.

There are seven members in my family. They are my grandparents, my parents, my sister, my brother and me. My grandparents like reading newspapers. They are very old. They are always happy. My father is a businessman. He works hard. He’s not very tall but fat. He likes sleeping. He’s kind. My mother is a housewife. She looks young. She’s strict to our study. My sister is a university student. She studies hard. My brother is in Grade Four. He is only 10 years old. He likes playing computer games. He’s a naughty boy.

I love each person in my family. I love my sweet warm home.

My father is a manager. He’s forty-six years old. But he looks like very young and handsome. He always goes to park with me. He likes to smoke. But I think smoke is bad for himself. He likes English songs. He’s good at Chinese. He sometimes helps me to write a composition. My father likes pets very much. I like my father very much.

My grandmother and my sister live together. My grandma is sixty-three years old. She’s retiring. My sister is a student of fourteen years old. She has two big eyes and long straight hair. She’s a small famous singer in her city. She likes to sing and dance. She can sing very well. She joins in many competitions and she always be champion.

一、在中国，英语是外语，不是二语，不可习得。

在中国，很多人忽视了英语是一门外语，而不是第二语言，是英语学习效率低下的一个重要客观原因。

那么，第二语言与外语究竟有什么区别?它们是同一概念不同风格的用语，还是两个不同的概念?它对英语教学的效果会产生怎样的作用?

其实，我们知道，second 1anguage与first language相对，而foreign 1anguage和non-native language是与mother tongue和native 1anguage相对的。

first language和mother tongue和native 1anguage的共同特点是：(1)最早习得的语言，常常是在家庭环境中习;(2)熟练程度高。语言直觉强。

second language，foreign language和non-native language的共同特点是：(1)是一种双语现象;(2)在掌握的时间顺序上次于第一语言;(3)熟练程度一般不如第一语言;(4)习得方式一般是学校教育、家庭教育或自学。

首先，在语言环境方面，第二语言与外语有着根本的差别。第二语言学习者一般都有一个比较自然的语言环境。周围有众多的该语言的本族语使用者。由于种种原因，他们之间可能会有各种各样的联系。同时，由于该语言可能是“官方语言的一种(如英语、法语在加拿大，英语在印度等)，新闻媒介、官方文件、广告等等为学习者提供了一个比较真实和自然的语言环境，而“外语”学习者一般来说则很难有这样的语言环境。
