香港朗文版本众多,有New Welcometo English, Longman Welcome to English, Primary Longman Express, PrimaryLongman Elect, New Magic等, 都是BECG(香港课标下的教材)。这个课程体系下讲究的是培养听说读写能力,无论从词汇、阅读题材类型、阅读篇章、阅读速度、阅读理解能力,写作能力,还有语言知识的积累都较国内NCS(国内新课标)下的教材(如:上海牛津,深港朗文)都有较高的要求。简单来说,比国内领先2-3个年级。培养目标为:会阅读会写作会交流。
以上几套香港朗文教材按难度大小排名依次为Primary LongmanElect,Primary Longman Express, Longman Welcome toEnglish, New Magic, New Welcome to English
其中,Longman Welcome to English(简称LWTE)和Primary Longman Express(简称PLE)是在香港地区特别受欢迎的小学英语教材,据说80%以上的香港小学在使用,故在深圳特区也倍受追棒。
词汇大比拼
从词汇的角度将教材整体内容做一个对比分析,这是LWTE、PLE和校内(NCS课标)的词汇对比表。总的来说,LWTE教材在小学六年,要求词汇量2109,PLE教材要求2239,而校内要求仅为713。中考的词汇量的要求是1800。不难看出无论是LWTE,还是PLE都已经达到中考的词汇要求,远超校内所要求范围。同时,我们注意到LWTE和PLE在词汇总量的要求上是差异不大的。
教材整体内容和语言知识对比
从语法的角度进行教材整体内容对比。我们来看这张表,这张表有两百多个语法项目,这里只是截取了其中六十多个项目,做一个浏览。我们看到,最左一列是中学语法知识点呈现,黄色的是PLE教材的语法点分布。绿色的是LWTE教材的语法点分布。可以看出,两套教材在语法点上都是全面覆盖初中语法要求的。
文本类型对比
阅读是如此的重要。我们看看文本的类型这么多:poem,musical,play,list,songs…您知道,孩子在刚刚接触英语的时候,对什么类型的文章感兴趣呢?对故事,歌曲,韵律诗这样类型的文本感兴趣,他们兴趣浓,吸收扎实。但随着孩子年龄的增大,需要拓宽阅读类型范围,需要接触有难度的文本,如档案,网页,新闻,报告等等。我们可以看到,PLE教材和LWTE教材无论是从文本的类型广度上,还是从阅读篇章的数量上,都是远胜校内课文。
最后我们做一个回顾,大家可以感受到PLE教材和LWTE教材要求高,难度大。所以,对于不同的起点,不同的孩子,需要不同的学习安排和策略。入学前我们会根据测试情况给孩子们进行分班,不选为难孩子的,选择最合适的,赢在起跑线上。
