Send this for me while you're at the post office. 你去邮局时顺便帮我把这个寄了. 你可以不说这个顺便,要说就只能就当时情况而定了,英文中没有中文这样好用的"顺便".所以你问的这句话也是,可能会说成.Get me the cup while you're at the dining room.到饭厅时顺便把我的杯子拿来.而不能说成,Pass me the cup in passing.in passing 用于表示做了什么事情觉得有些不太自在等想表现出自己并非有某种目的而去做某事,或是确实在无意识中做了某事.希望别人不要太在意或不要误会的意思.所以就你的情况顺便不能译成in passing.
