不再做某事的英文

stop sb. doing sth.，阻止某人做某事；stop sb. from doing sth.，阻止某人做某事。前者就是后者省略了介词from的形式，二者在含义上和用法上实际上是相同的。例：The Allies were still hoping to stop the Tsardom of Bulgaria (from) joing the Triple Alliance.协约国仍希望阻止保加利亚沙皇国加入三国同盟一方。类似的还有prevent sb. (from) doing sth.，防止/阻碍某人做某事等。例：A defect of vision prevented him from focusing accurately.视力上的缺陷使他不能准确对焦。但是要注意有类似含义的keep sb. from doing sth.，其中的from不可省略。keep sb. from doing sth.，防止/阻止某人做某事；keep sb. doing sth.，使某人持续做某事。二者的含义完全不同。例： The overseer kept the workers working day and night.监工让工人没日没夜地工作。People should be kept from working long hours.要防止人们工作太长时间。
