歌曲翻唱
1983年8月，香港歌手陈百强（Danny Chan）的专辑《偏偏喜欢你》里面的一首《仁爱的心》改编自此歌，由林敏聪填词，香港华纳唱片公司发行。
2003年，日剧《白色巨塔》的片尾曲即使用此首歌，由海莉·薇思特拉所演唱。
香港歌手容祖儿2005年的作品 《明日恩典》则是改篇自本首歌，并在歌曲的副歌加入了这首圣诗。
2006年英国电影《Amazing Grace》，导演Michael Apted，主演Ioan Gruffudd，再现了威廉·威伯大众的反贩奴运动，以及牛顿牧师写作这首歌词的过程。

创作背景：
《奇异恩典》这首最初由英国牧师约翰·牛顿作于1779年，开始是一首传统的民谣，或黑人灵歌，它表达了宗教的忠诚，其中包含着一个平淡但是极富深意的赎罪的故事。
歌的主题和《圣经》的主旨相符：忏悔、感恩、赎罪、重生。歌词简洁充满敬虔、感恩的告白，也是约翰·牛顿的生命见证，约翰·牛顿本是一名黑奴船长，无恶不作，后来反而沦落非洲。
在一次暴风雨的海上，他蒙上帝的拯救，于是决心痛改前非，奉献一生，宣扬上帝的福音，成为19世纪的传道人。去世之前，他为自己写了墓志铭：“约翰牛顿牧师，从前是个犯罪作恶不信上帝的人，曾在非洲作奴隶之主。
