1、《what I've done》。

《What I've Done》是Linkin Park的转型之作，既代表乐队曲风从新金属说唱转变为更加多元化的风格，也代表乐队开始关注和平、环境等深层次的全球性问题。作为电影《变形金刚》的主题曲，《What I've Done》除了紧凑的节奏与影片相适合之外，其深层的反战含义也符合并深化了电影的主题。

2、《New Divide》。

歌曲再次延续了《What I’ve Done》的风格，而且《New Divide》完美地捕捉到了电影《变形金刚2》的精髓 [2]  。在这首林肯公园专门为电影量身定做的主题曲中，虽然只有查斯特·贝宁顿的愤怒呼喊声而没有麦克·信田的Rap，但是整首歌曲并没有令人失望。

3、《iridescent》。

迈克尔·贝一开始因为对3D并不熟悉，对影片采用3D持谨慎态度，但为詹姆斯·卡梅隆开发3D摄影机的文斯·佩斯加盟影片，使得迈克尔·贝最终还是决定使用3D进行拍摄。

第三集的副标题“月黑之时”指的是一段时间内月亮有三天被遮住而消失，因而称为“无月之日”，它象征着一个时代的结束与一个新的开始。

前两集的编剧罗伯托·奥奇和艾里克斯·库兹曼也为影片进行了前期的剧本工作，但随后就被弃用，曾经参与过《变形金刚2》编剧工作的伊伦·克鲁格最终完成了影片的剧本。

梅根·福克斯退出《变形金刚3》的拍摄之后，杰玛·阿特登、阿什莉·格林、米兰达·可儿、芭儿·莱法利、艾梅柏·希尔德等演员都为这个角色进行过试镜，不过最后还是被罗茜·汉丁顿-惠特莉赢得。
