但通过采访得到的大量第一手的新闻材料，并非都可以报道，还要经过分析、筛选、提炼、剪裁和加工，方能使之成为新闻作品。
我今天主要介绍新闻写作的一般规律以及几种常用新闻题材的特点和写作方法。
要从事新闻写作，首先要知道什么是新闻。
新闻是新近发生的事实的报道。
这一定义明确规定了实施与新闻的关系：新闻的本源是事实，新闻是事实的报道，事实是第一性的，新闻是第二性的，事实在先，报道在后，也可以这样说，事实是构成新闻的细胞，离开了事实，新闻也就不存在了。
新闻写作，实际上就是客观地记叙事实、评述实事。
我们来读一篇曾获得首届“中国新闻奖”一等奖的新闻作品。
中国，充满投资机会东部沿海百家“三资”企业调查（节录） 记者最近对东部沿海地区100家“三资”企业做的调查发现，有39家已先后追加了投资。
这表明外商在中国投资是有利可图的。
这项调查是最近上个月间进行的。
记者就企业是否有利可图、是否享有自主权以及基础设施建设和优惠政策如何等几个问题，采用相同采访提纲，选择了福建、浙江、上海、江苏和山东5个省市的100家“三资”企业逐家进行了调查。
在被调查的100家企业中，有77家已取得了可观的利润，尚未盈利的23家企业中，因经营不善等原因而致亏损的只有8家。
其余15家未能获利的原因包括：快速折旧、处于还贷期或处于开业投产初期，等等。
这些企业的经营者认为盈利对他们来说是早晚的事。
